Mō te tūnga | About the role
New Zealand Police have an advanced health, fitness, and wellbeing program for our staff, and are seeking a dynamic health and fitness professional to join our team.

The successful applicant will be working within a high performing team who form part of the wider Safer People work group. This role will cover a range of physical activity and testing functions, along with and associated administrative tasks. It will require the individual to have effective and proven communication skills, relevant physical health and fitness industry experience and the ability to work within a fast paced and changing environment that necessitates effective planning and coordination.

In this role, you will be enabling our people by enhancing their hauora. You will demonstrate a high level of professionalism, empathy, and resilience to help support people to achieve their goals.

The position is Whangarei based and the successful applicant must reside within Northland District.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide fitness advice and guidance to Police employees and applicants.
  • Provide fitness testing to Police employees and applicants.
  • Identify risks, trends and opportunities through health and lifestyle interventions.
  • Attend and support District Recruitment Initiatives and events.
  • Collaborate and engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Promote health and wellness, with an emphasis on the Wellness Hub and a focus on prevention.
  • Completion of necessary administration tasks associated to the role.

Whakaritenga motuhake | Special requirements

  • A tertiary qualification in either Physical Education or another related field is desirable.
  • Current First Aid certificate.
  • Must reside in Northland.
  • Must have a full NZ Driver’s License

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $87,306 and $91,353 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
