About the Role Become a key member of our legal team and help us meet our obligations under the obligations under the Local Government Official Information Act (LGOIMA) and Privacy Act.
As the Senior Information Advisor, Official Information and Privacy you will work across Council to enable more effective public participation in decision making and promote the accountability of our members and officials.
Types of issues you will be involved with include:
Coordinating response to requests for official information
Collating and drafting responses to requests for information
Providing advice on the application of official information and privacy obligations and practice
Raising awareness of official information obligations through training and advice
Monitoring and reporting on the release of information
About You This is a great role if you are experienced in responding to requests for information and focussed on best practice and the application of policies and processes around releasing official information. This may also suit someone who understands the machinery of government and has a background in ministerial services or similar. You will need to understand the importance of getting the right information and releasing it in the right way and have strong attention to detail skills.
You will bring excellent research skills, along with the ability to manage information in a timely and appropriate way and can help us on a continuous basis to raise awareness of official information and privacy obligations. You will work closely with both the Chief Legal Officer and Privacy Officer. We will value you for your strong ability to build and manage a wide range of relationships with internal staff, members of the public and our vendors, a planned and organised approach to your work and the work of your team, and great communication skills is a must for this role.
