Downer Greenspaces team have a reputation built through great people, access to first class plant and equipment and leading edge technology that allow us to deliver for our clients to the highest standards across New Zealand.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Team leader to join our dynamic Taranaki Greenspaces team. In this role, you will provide operational leadership, managing resources (people, plant, materials, subcontractors) to deliver on contract requirements, while optimizing safety, quality, and financial performance. As the Team leader, you will work collaboratively across sectors to ensure the effective delivery of services to our clients, achieving both operational and customer experience targets.
A bit about the role:
As a Greenspaces team leader, you will:
- Oversee the allocation of resources (people, plant, materials) and ensure efficient use of technology and job management systems to achieve positive outcomes.
- Develop strong working relationships, coach and mentor staff to meet performance targets, and support their career development through training initiatives.
- Lead by example in promoting a Zero Harm culture, ensuring all safety, environmental, and quality targets are met, and minimizing risks through effective compliance management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, anticipate and resolve issues, and actively seek opportunities for organic growth in customer relationships.
- Monitor contract performance and project budgets, ensuring timely delivery and achievement of contract margins.
Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills
We are looking for a self motivated team member who has:
- Full Class 1 Drivers license required, HT would be an advantage
- Experience in operational management (within the Greenspaces sector would be highly regarded )
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- A qualification in Horticulture is highly desirable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- STMS /Traffic management qualifications preferred; however full training can be provided for the right candidate.
