We have an exciting leadership opportunity at BestStart North Road due to an internal promotion. We’re looking for a Qualified and Registered Teacher to join our passionate, experienced team as Head Teacher working with our over 2-year-old tamariki.
Our centre is proud of its strong community connections, including local schools, rest homes, businesses, and the local park. We’re guided by whanaungatanga—building relationships with our tamariki, whānau, and wider community. We regularly explore our neighbourhood through excursions, helping our children develop a sense of belonging and pride in their hometown.
We also run a successful ‘Wild at Heart’ programme, taking tamariki on regular nature-based learning experiences to Thompson’s Bush, encouraging exploration, curiosity, and confidence.

- Lead and support a well-established teaching team
- Create inspiring learning opportunities through project-based and inquiry-led experiences
- Foster positive relationships with tamariki, whānau, and the wider community

What we’re looking for:
- A confident and inspiring teacher ready to take the next step in leadership
- BEd/Dip Level 7 (ECE) and current NZ Teacher Certification
- Strong understanding of curriculum, planning, assessment, and compliance
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative, community-focused environment
