Job Description

Adult Learning Specialist Needed for Trust Board Role

Want to use your adult Learning and Development skills to help people feel confident talking about money and taking control of their financial lives?

We're creating a Charitable Trust in Christchurch to provide free financial advice with a difference. We're here for people who might feel stuck in the middle - those who aren't in crisis but feel hesitant about seeking financial advice, whether due to cost or concerns about being sold financial products.

This project grew from my personal experience as a customer of the financial advice industry. It inspired me to complete the NZ Certificate in Financial Services and use this qualification to help others. This is an entirely volunteer-led initiative, with trustees contributing their time and expertise.

We're looking for someone with adult learning and development experience to join our Trust Board. Your understanding of how people learn and engage would help us:

  • Create welcoming spaces where money talk feels natural
  • Design group sessions that build financial confidence
  • Make one-to-one advice sessions relatable and practical
  • Turn financial concepts into clear, actionable steps
