Work alongside taiohi and supporting them to build life skills, resilience, and strong connections with their whānau, friends and communities.

We provide health and wellbeing services working with local community agencies to help taiohi aged 12-25 develop life skills and build strong connections, including their school, employer, whānau, and friends.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
The youth worker role involves supporting taiohi with mental health and addiction concerns to meet their day-to-day needs. Working in a residential setting, you will assist taiohi in developing life skills, building resilience, and providing practical problem-solving support.

You will use your skills, creativity, and expertise to collaborate with team members and external agencies, ensuring the best outcomes for taiohi and their whānau.

All three positions are full time, permanent, and based in Hamilton.

You | Mōu
You will:

  • Hold a Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognised equivalent or be studying towards a recognised equivalent.
  • Have experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care. 
  • Have both de-escalation skills and relationship building skills.   
  • Hold a current full New Zealand driver’s  
  • Hold a current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
  • Have knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
