About the role

We're looking for a positive, fun, self-directed, proactive, enthusiastic, outgoing and energetic team player to work alongside our residents at our Hillsborough Heights Village, located in Mt Roskill.
You will organise and coordinate activities and outings for our residents living in the village. Working closely with the Village Manager, this is an exciting role with the opportunity to make a difference in our residents' daily lives.
You will work Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5.00 pm, (40 hours per week) however this may vary from time to time to fit around delivery of village events.
Some of the great things you will be doing:
- Organising special events and outings for our resident's.
- Driving our Village bus and escorting residents on excursions and shopping trips
- Engaging with our residents and family members.
- Delivering activities for our residents that engage, provide social interaction and give a sense of belonging.
- Proactively connecting with community groups and organisations to find new and exciting activities.
- Coordinating and supporting existing village and resident run activities.
Skills and Experience Required:
We are looking for a sociable, outgoing, creative thinker who can organise great events for our residents. Other things that will make you a great Social Coordinator:
- Full and clean full NZ Driver's License to drive our village van
- Current First Aid certificate - preferable but training can be provided
- You will need to be an excellent people person who enjoys working with the older adult, with an ability to maximise resident participation in activities.
- Great communication skills - written and spoken
- Strong focus on health and safety for both residents and staff
- Capable & confident in preparing written materials, posters, newsletters and with a great eye for detail.
- Confident in MS Suite - Word, Outlook essential and other Apps desirable.
