As a Platform Manager, you will lead the development, operation, and optimization of the Conversational Platform within BNZ Technology, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals. Your role will involve overseeing platform strategy, roadmaps and delivery, fostering high performance, and driving innovation across cross-functional teams.

What are some day-to-day tasks the successful candidate in this role will complete?

  • Platform Strategy: Develop and communicate a compelling Conversational Platform strategy that meets stakeholders' requirements, aligns with BNZ’s goals, and drives impactful outcomes. Guide technology teams toward purpose-driven excellence.
  • People Leadership: Lead Platform Owners, Principal Engineers and Engineering Leads through all employee lifecycle stages – attraction, recruitment, onboarding, development, retention, and offboarding. Foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability to drive performance and alignment with business goals. The Platform Manager role is an influential Technology Domain leadership position.
  • Roadmap Planning: Create and maintain a comprehensive platform roadmap, prioritising features and enhancements to meet agreed business objectives and for customers and colleagues.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with technology teams, architects, vendors, and stakeholders to design, build, and maintain a seamless platform that integrates with other systems.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Utilise data and analytics to make informed decisions, driving platform improvements and optimisation. Support technology teams in making data-backed choice.

The Platform Manager role offers the chance to lead the development, operation, and optimisation of platforms within BNZ Technology. You will be instrumental in driving innovation across cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, and fostering high performance. This role allows you to make a significant impact on the bank's technology portfolio by delivering a high-quality, next generation Contact Center platform solution built on cutting-edge technology.

What skills are required for this role?

  • Product Management Experience: Background as a Product Owner or Product Manager, ideally with platform products – especially Contact Centre technologies and digital messaging solutions powered by Amazon Connect.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to define and align the platform vision with business goals.
  • Technical Understanding: Familiarity with software development and platform infrastructure.
  • Data-Driven: Skilled in using data and metrics to guide decisions.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority.
  • Stakeholder Management: Expertise in managing expectations of senior leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills for identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Communication: Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  • User-Centric: Focus on user needs to shape product features and direction.
  • Change Management: Experience managing change in agile or fast-paced environments

Success in this role will be demonstrated by effectively leading the platform teams towards operational excellence, ensuring alignment with customer needs, stakeholder expectations, and BNZ’s strategic goals. The candidate will also be successful in promoting a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability, and ensuring platform stability, scalability, security, and compliance.
