The Student Hubs team is the physical gateway to Waipapa Taumata Rau | The University of Auckland. We provide a welcoming, friendly, and mana-enhancing service for future and current students across their student journey.

We deliver a wide range of services to support students on their journey at Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland. Our primary function is to deliver high quality in-person and online services that support students holistically. Our services include:

  • Guidance and advice on being a student,
  • Navigation of the University systems, spaces and processes,
  • Information about study options,
  • Support with applications and enrolments,
  • Library & Student IT services.


Our Hub Assistants provide a high standard of customer service, assistance and advice across a wide range of enquiries, helping current and prospective students to successfully navigate aspects of their student journey at the University of Auckland. Our team of Hub Assistants operate in a front-facing role being the first point of contact for our services

We are looking for 4 highly motivated individuals to join our team of Hub Assistants who:

  • Are strong team players who work well in a team environment and are also self-starters,
  • Demonstrate good customer service skills,
  • Have the ability to solve problems creatively,
  • Work well in a fast-paced, dynamic and professional environment,
  • Demonstrate empathy and care for others,
  • Bring a positive attitude and strong work ethic that align with our values.



Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

Vacancy 1: 8AM – 4PM, Tuesday-Friday.

Vacancy 2: 2PM – 8PM, Friday-Sunday and 2 PM – 10 PM, Monday.

Vacancy 3: 2PM – 10PM, Thursday and 2PM – 8PM, Friday-Sunday

Vacancy 4: 10AM – 6PM, Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday

All vacancies are permanent roles based at our City Campus Student Hub. The salary range for this role is $50,700 - $55,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Our Recruitment Process

We are conducting a volume recruitment process that includes a group activity and individual interviews. Both parts of the recruitment process will take place on Monday 14 April 2025 (Group 1: 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, Group 2: 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM.) Shortlisted candidates must be available to attend the group interview on this day.

The start date for all roles will be Monday 19 May 2025 and there will be a two-week induction & training programme primarily based at the City Campus.
