Te Whiwhinga mahi |The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a fixed-term, part-time Research Operations Coordinator to join our team at Te Pūnaha Matatini – Aotearoa’s Centre of Research Excellence for complex systems. Te Pūnaha Matatini is hosted by the Faculty of Science.
You will be responsible for supporting the operational facilitation of a Centre of Research Excellence including coordination and executive support to the Directors, Research Operations Manager and researchers.
You will act as a conduit between the research centre and other people/organisations both within the University and externally and ensure centre processes and activities are managed as efficiently and consistently as possible.
This is a part-time (22.5 hours per week), 12 month fixed-term position.
The salary range for this role is between $62,400 - $77,800 depending on skills and experience (pro-rated)

Te Pūnaha Matatini brings together different disciplines, ways of thought, methods, and crucially, people – to define, and then solve, society’s thorny interconnected problems. The expertise of our researchers spans the breadth of human knowledge, from computational sciences to environmental economics, and from linguistics to Indigenous philosophy to mathematical biology.

That is, reciprocity is key.

Our ideal candidate would have a relevant tertiary qualification and experience working in a research environment, or relevant work experience in a tertiary research environment. You will need to have strong interpersonal, communication and engagement skills, with the ability to coordinate complex stakeholder relationships.
