About the role
We are seeking an experienced High Voltage (HV) Equipment & Appliance Testing Technician to join our Equipment Testing Team. This is an interesting and varied role with plenty of learning to keep you interested and engaged. The position of High Voltage (HV) Equipment & Appliance Testing Technician works collaboratively with the Equipment Testing Coordinator and Equipment Testing Team to ensure quality service for internal and external customers. This role is responsible for carrying out the regular testing, calibration and repair of HV equipment, electrical appliances and bond leads for both internal and external customers. This role also has responsibility for testing HV electrical protective and measuring equipment, as well as vehicle electrical testing (Earth bonding and insulated EWPs), and assisting the Calibration and HV Equipment Testing laboratories.
Skills /Experience
Essential
One or more of the below qualifications required:
- Registered electrician with current practising licence
- Registered electrical appliance serviceperson with current practising licence
- Minimum 3 years' experience working with high voltage equipment
- Diploma or NZCE Electrical (or equivalent)
- Experience in electrical equipment testing: e.g. HV PPE, testing equipment, live line protective equipment, vehicles electrical testing, and instrument calibration
- Comprehensive knowledge of PAT testing and tagging requirements
- Working knowledge of AS/NZ3760 and AS/NZ3012
- Experience using SAP
- Working knowledge of the electrical supply industry
- Current and valid drivers' licence
- Computer and technology literate
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
