Job Description

Our client, a trusted leader in supply chain solutions, is seeking a Business Intelligence Lead to drive their reporting and data analytics function. This is a strategic role focused on delivering actionable insights that support business performance, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

About the Role

This role sits at the intersection of data, systems, and business operations. The Business Intelligence Lead will play a key role in shaping their BI environment—ensuring accurate reporting, developing high-impact dashboards, and mentoring internal teams to build data maturity across the organisation.

The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Power BI, a strong understanding of ERP integration (preferably SAP), and a commercial mindset to turn complex data into meaningful, accessible insights.

It’s also a great opportunity for someone looking to step up into management and mentoring, as this role includes one direct report and offers a strong platform to grow mentoring and team development skills in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead BI Development: Design and implement scalable BI solutions across the business using Power BI and SQL, including dashboards, performance metrics, and predictive insights.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with the leadership team and key stakeholders to identify reporting needs, translate business challenges into data requirements, and provide strategic insights.
  • Data Ownership: Serve as subject matter expert on core data structures and systems; ensure integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all reporting outputs.
  • System Integration: Lead the integration of BI tools with core ERP (SAP) and third-party applications, ensuring seamless data flow and robust architecture.
  • Mentorship & Training: Guide and support the Information Systems Team and wider business users on BI tools and methodologies, upskilling teams and fostering a culture of data literacy.
  • Project Leadership: Manage the full lifecycle of BI/reporting initiatives—from requirements gathering through to deployment, documentation, and change management.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis: Deliver fast turnaround reporting solutions that support business units with day-to-day operational and commercial decisions.
  • People Leadership: Provide day-to-day support and coaching for a direct report, with the opportunity to expand leadership capability through mentoring and team development.

What We're Looking For

  • 2–5+ years' experience in business intelligence, analytics, or reporting—preferably in supply chain or logistics
  • Advanced Power BI skills, including DAX, Power Query, and custom visualizations.
  • Strong SQL experience and a deep understanding of data modelling principles.
  • Experience integrating BI with ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, with additional certifications in BI or data analytics highly regarded.

Why Join?

  • A collaborative, forward-thinking culture where initiative is valued, and innovation is encouraged.
  • A mix of hands-on technical work, business partnering, and leadership—all in one role.
