Job Title: Marine Upholsterer, Trimmer & Cover Fabricator
Location: Havelock, Marlborough
Pay Rate: $35-$38 per hour

About the Company
Since 1988, this company has been the go-to leader for all things fabric, serving industries far and wide – from transport to marine, agriculture to aviation. After a period of expansion they now operate across three workshops in Nelson, Blenheim and Havelock.
The Role:
Specialising in marine upholstery and trimming, you will be all about quality work, excellent client communication and enjoying a great team culture. While work will be predominantly based in Havelock, you will be closely aligned to and supported by the Blenheim team which are 20 minutes away and so the successful applicant can be based in either Havelock or Blenheim.
Workload: 75% marine-related work, both new and repairs – think upholstery, seats, carpets, biminis, clears and general boat covers. The remaining 25% will keep you busy with a wide range of work from motor vehicle trimming and general upholstery through to shade, covers and tarpaulins.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, and create perfect covers and upholstery (accuracy is key, no room for errors!)
- Work independently and make the role your own – own it!
- Handle a variety of outdoor textiles and fabrics with expertise
- Marketing and client communication in the Havelock area
Ideal Candidate:
Qualifications: Outdoor textile qualification is a bonus, but hands-on experience is a must.
Skills:
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of fabrics and machinery
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Passionate about marine work and all things boats.
- Loves a cool, family-friendly work environment
