Nestled in the heart of Kaikorai Valley, close to Dunedin BestStart Kaikorai Valley Road is a welcoming, vibrant, and flexible early childhood centre. We are a purpose-built early childhood centre where tamariki laugh, learn, share, and grow.
About the Role:
If you have a passion for teaching young children and are currently enrolled to study in a level 7 ECE programme (ECE Bachelor), we want to hear from you. This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week Monday-Friday.
You will be based in our Koru Room working alongside our 2 and 3 year old tamariki. Our Koru space promotes children’s curiosity. Tamariki are encouraged to use their imaginations and make discoveries about themselves and the world around them through play, Kaiako actively support children’s excitement and love for learning at the pace that is right for them.

Role requirements:
Commit to making a difference in the lives of young learners with a team dedicated to excellence. We are looking for a team player with strong verbal and written communication skills and adaptability as everyday is different. We are also searching for the following:
- Enrolment into a level 7 ECE Bachelor or Graduate Diploma course
- Good understanding of child-led curriculum, planning and extending on our children's learning
- Be enthusiastic about working with children and committed to their professional development.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of the current ECE Regulations, Te Whariki and hold compliance in a high regard
- A strong commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through pedagogical practices
- Passion and commitment for teaching and learning with a focus on delivering quality
