Job Description

Join a dynamic team as a Data Architect for a 6-month contract, focusing on the National Data Platform transformation. Utilize your expertise in Snowflake and dbt to drive platform enhancements and provide strategic guidance in a collaborative environment.

Our client is seeking a skilled Data Architect to join their team for a 6-month contract, reporting directly to the Programme Manager. This role is pivotal in supporting one of Auckland's largest data transformation projects. You'll work closely with Data Engineers and other stakeholders, offering your expertise in Snowflake and dbt.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Finalize MDR Present layer coding, ensuring alignment with the data masking policy framework.
  • Provide dbt support, manage core versions, and write new macros for performance improvement.
  • Monitor Snowflake credit consumption, manage warehouse scaling, and handle security mappings.
  • Deploy SchemaChange releases and establish data shares between Snowflake accounts.
  • Enhance platform components and support Data Engineering squads through guidance and collaborative sessions.
  • Manage Entra provisioning, including creating administrative groups and security policies.
  • Support RSA key/token rotation across the platform architecture.


Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect with expertise in Snowflake and dbt.
  • Strong understanding of data security, access issues, and warehouse scaling.
  • Experience with Gitlab CICD pipelines and SchemaChange releases.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to provide technical guidance.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to foster collaboration within teams.
