You’ll be a seasoned professional with deep experience across enterprise applications and how they integrate in a modern IT environment. Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

The Practice Lead, Applications & Integration is responsible for the leadership and operational management of their practice area, including people, technology, suppliers, and work within the practice area. Key responsibilities include managing application development, integration, and support functions, ensuring service availability, and enabling end-user support teams. The role involves balancing day-to-day management with delivery, including projects and initiatives, and fostering a positive team environment.

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

Lead application development, integration, and support
Manage development, configuration, and integration practices
Ensure service availability and manage enhancements
Ensure security and privacy of information and information flows
Enable improved user experiences through effective sourcing, implementation, and automation
Provide expert advice and direction
Drive business change through financial, technical, and strategic alignment
Influence attitudes, decisions and actions
Foster team performance and engagement
Collaborate to meet strategies, plans and targets

Ko koe tēnei | Who You Are

Tertiary qualified in IT or business management, or equivalent experience
Extensive experience in IT, specifically in applications and integration
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in an IT or IT-related leadership position
Proven ability to manage transformation projects and vendor relationships
Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and uncertainty and, crucially, challenging change
Knowledge of strategic technologies, preferably in educational or government contexts

Many of the IT Services teams and business stakeholders are based on our Palmerston North campus, which is the preferred location for this role. Consideration may be given for the right candidate to be based at our Wellington Campus, however regular travel (minimum of 1 day per week) to Palmerston North will be required.

This is a full time (37.5hrs) role and appointment will be commensurate of skills and experience within the $130 - $170K range.
