The opportunity:
Join AIA NZ as a pivotal member of our Comms & Events team, where you'll have the chance to plan, execute, and deliver outstanding events while supporting top-tier communications activities. This dynamic role offers a unique blend of responsibilities, including end-to-end responsibility for a diverse range of events, you'll play a key role in promoting wellness and making a meaningful impact as well as creating impactful presentations, engaging in copywriting, and crafting speeches. You'll also work closely with senior executives, managing stakeholder expectations with finesse. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with the Head of Corporate Affairs & Communications and Events team to create innovative events that align with AIA’s brand and goals.
- Plan and deliver a variety of events, including product roadshows, conferences, gala dinners, and wellness activities.
- Develop event plans, templates, and communication materials, ensuring all health and safety requirements are met.
- Coordinate with the Events team, business units, and external suppliers for event logistics.
- Assist the Executive Assistant to the CEO with Group Executive visits, managing all logistics and schedules.
- Work with the Communications team to prepare presentations, invites, and speech notes for events.
- Build strong relationships with executives, other business units as well as external suppliers to support communications and events.
- Support the Communications team with internal newsletters and media summaries.
- Manage the event budget in collaboration with the Head of Corporate Affairs & Communications.
- Foster a cooperative team environment and provide mentoring to the Events Management Specialist.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven senior relationship management experience.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to interpret complex information and create engaging content.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and reliability.
- Excellent organisation, project management, and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Commitment to meeting customer expectations.
- Relevant experience or qualification in events, communications, marketing, or business.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel, with a continuous learning focus on new AI or project management tools as these evolve.
- 5+ years’ experience in events, communications, marketing, or a related field.
- Experience in financial services, insurance, or professional services is preferred but not essential.
Applicants must have a Full New Zealand Driver’s License.
