About the role As we continue our growth trajectory and continue to strive for excellence for our village accommodations for our residence, an exciting opportunity has become available for a talented Project Manager. Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing our serviced apartment conversion and facility modernisation programmes, ensuring the successful delivery of these strategic projects. Projects involve internal alterations, and refurbishment works in live operational environments with values ranging from $1.5 - $7m.
Key responsibilities will include:
Oversee all aspect of project delivery including appointing consultants, design management, procurement and delivery.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that key project drivers are met.
Oversee the project health and safety framework to ensure safe working practices.
Management of procurement process including tendering, tender evaluation, contract compilation and contractor selection process.
Contract administration.
Manage project risks through proactive identification and mitigation
Assist in the implementation of construction management plans to ensure continuity of our core business operations.
Support to secure required building consents and statutory approvals.
Manage consultant team, construction companies and any other stakeholder involved in the delivery of the project.
Undertake any special projects or assignments as required by management to ensure the effective financial integrity and strategic expectations of Metlifecare are met.
Ensure project expenditure is controlled and within agreed budget.
About you With a relevant degree, you will have a detailed understanding of construction. You are a seasoned project manager with a proven track record of delivering construction projects. This opportunity will give you the exposure and growth to client side project management that will propel your career as Metlifecare continues to expand
You will have thorough experience working within existing buildings and understand and apply the correct standards and targets to meet legislative and Metlifecare standards. You are a strong communicator, are able to mitigate risk in advance and have solid understanding of NZ standards of code requirements.
