Mō te tūranga | About the Role
The Institutional and Business Banking (IBB) Business Performance team is a fast paced and nimble team specialising in end-to-end data analytics from data creation right through to actionable insights and recommendations. You will work collaboratively with the team, senior leaders, and our technology partners in building a lean analytics pipeline.

The Senior Manager, Business Performance is responsible for defining, developing, and delivering effective business performance insights to the IBB teams. This role ensures that robust, timely, and accurate data insights are gathered and provided to front-line teams to enhance their productivity and knowledge. Additionally, it supports the development of systems that integrate best practices in operational metrics, including excellence in both legacy and cloud solutions across various internal and external data sources.

The Senior Manager of Business Performance consistently demonstrates strong commercial acumen, effective analytical skills, and a deep understanding of data from diverse sources. The ability to identify, develop, and measure metrics from a wide range of internal and external sources is crucial for this role.

  • Proven experience in financial and operational reporting and management, relationship management, stakeholder management, data visualization, data manipulation, full stack development, workflow implementation, API applications, real-time reporting, dashboard monitoring, and leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with, and interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
  • Proficient in data engineering tools and languages such as SQL, Python and building ETL processes
  • An understanding of data governance, data quality, data visualisation and tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport with internal stakeholders and a team player
  • Experience in providing quality reporting to aid and enhance decision making in a large and complex organisation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and business acumen
  • Passion for data visualisation and cutting-edge reporting techniques.
  • Experience with Power Platform, MS Dynamics 365, Python and SAS will be advantageous
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or similar preferred.
