Job Description

  • Lead at Scale
  • Expand into High-Impact Markets
  • Create a Cohesive Sales & Marketing Strategy

Are you a visionary leader with a passion for driving growth and unifying dynamic sales and marketing teams? We’re seeking an accomplished Director Sales & Marketing to join our clients executive team and lead the national sales and marketing functions. If you have a robust background in the food and beverage industry—especially within large-scale operations—and proven experience in food service, aged care, and government sectors, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

As the Director Sales & Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in creating and maintaining a high-performing, results-driven culture. Reporting directly to the Managing Director (with a functional dotted line to the COO), you will be responsible for:

  • Integrated Strategy Development: Crafting and executing a customer-centric, data-driven “Customer 360” strategy that unites their sales, marketing, and customer engagement efforts.
  • National Sales Leadership: Guiding the National Sales team—including close collaboration with the General Manager of National Sales—to drive revenue growth, optimise sales execution, and expand their reach into non-core hospitality markets, such as aged care, institutions, and government sectors.
  • Marketing Excellence: Partnering with the Head of Marketing to align strategies, coordinate campaigns, and ensure consistent messaging across all customer touchpoints.
  • Digital-First Transformation: Driving the adoption of best-in-class tools and technologies (including Salesforce CRM) to support a digital-first approach across all sales functions.
  • Incentive & Performance Management: Designing innovative incentive programs, leading performance reviews, and spearheading training initiatives that empower their sales professionals to exceed targets.

What We’re Looking For

We require candidates who have demonstrated success in high-volume, scale-driven environments. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Industry Expertise: A proven track record in food and beverage organisations with large sales teams. Experience in the food service sector is essential, along with a deep understanding of the aged care and government markets.
  • Leadership Experience: A minimum of 5 years in sales leadership roles, with a history of delivering measurable KPIs, revenue growth, and sales excellence.
  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (an MBA is a plus).
  • Strategic and Digital Savvy: Strong strategic thinking skills combined with a digital mindset, including hands-on experience with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce).
  • Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Exceptional leadership, coaching, and communication abilities to inspire teams and build lasting relationships across the organisation.
  • Results-Oriented: A proactive, self-motivated individual with the ability to continuously improve processes, foster innovation, and manage performance at a national scale.

As part of the leadership team, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the brand, drive strategic initiatives, and expand their influence across key sectors. You’ll work in a dynamic environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.

How to Apply

If you are ready to make a significant impact in sales and marketing within the food service industry, please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience.

All applications must be submitted online.

To be eligible for this role, you must be a New Zealand citizen or resident or already hold a valid work visa that allows you to work permanently in New Zealand. You must also bring a strong working knowledge of the New Zealand foodservice landscape and relevant, current networks.
