Southern Engineering Solutions is a fabrication and installation business who specialise in making a wide range of products, focusing on bespoke high end custom plant and machinery for the food industry. We pride ourselves in turning out exceptional, innovative bespoke projects to a wide variety of customers.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter Turner to join our busy team in Islington.

This is a varied role that involves work on manual lathes and mills as well as a variety of assembly tasks. Experience in welding, maintenance, fitting, CNC machining (Mazak), and site work would be a great advantage.

The focus of this role is to perform engineering mechanical works on a wide variety of equipment and plant sites, but there will be some M/S and S/S fabrication required. As a tradesperson you will be someone who enjoys a wide variety of work, has an attention to detail and takes pride in supplying top quality work in all that you do.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work on manual lathes and mills as well as a variety of assembly tasks and breakdown support.
• Repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment and replacement of defective parts.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers / staff representatives and site staff.
• Install and commission of a range of equipment and projects.

What you will bring to the role:

• A Mechanical Engineering Fitter/Turner trade qualification.
• Experience in operation, repair and maintenance of technical systems in a plant environment.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work in pressured environments and work within given timelines.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Recording of all work undertaken and sign off work completed.
• Knowledge of controlled plant equipment.
• Full NZ Class 1 Driver Licence.
• A can-do attitude and able to work overtime when required.
• Must be multi skilled, able to work unsupervised.
• Available to travel for installs and commissioning.

This is a full time opportunity working a minimum 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7am till 3.30pm plus occasional working away from home, on call and weekend work.
