About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Drainlayer to join our team in the Waikato. Waikato will be the predominate area of work for this role, however you may also be required to work in the Bay of Plenty Region.
As a Drainlayer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality of drainage installations, repairs and connections for water infrastructure projects. Your work will involve a variety of tasks related to the planning, inspection, and execution of drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Supervise the installation of drainage systems (including pipes, subsoil drainage and manholes) to ensure accurate alignment and secure connections.
  • Carry out trench excavation, potholing and pipeline laying while maintaining proper water flow and ensuring trench stability.
  • Provide training and support to team members, ensuring high standards of safety and quality are maintained.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.


Key Requirements:

  • Registered Drainlayer with the ability to gain certification under the Plumbers, Gasfitters, and Drainlayers Board (PGDB) – preferred but not essential.
  • Solid understanding of construction procedures, drainage systems, equipment and health & safety best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage and delegate tasks effectively within a small team.
  • Basic numeracy skills (NCEA Level 2 Maths or equivalent) for daily calculations.
