About the Role: We are seeking experienced Stainless Steel Welder/Fabricators to join our dynamic team in The Bay of Plenty. In this role, you will contribute to a variety of projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Waikato will be the predominate area of work for this role, however you may also be required to work in the Hawkes Bay and Bay of Plenty regions. This will be discussed with the successful applicant.

Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding, along with proven experience working with stainless steel, is essential for success in this role.

• Engage in diverse welding and fabrication projects across the Hawkes Bay, Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform welding and fabrication tasks on diverse projects.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Utilize various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and ARC.
• Select, clean, and prepare metal stock for fabrication.
• Fabricate, shape, and bend custom metal components and pipes using hand and machine tools, as well as plasma and laser cutters.
• Work with structural steel and other metal stock to repair metal products and structures such as boilers and pressure vessels.
• Examine welds for width of bead, penetration, and precision.
• Finish products by cleaning, polishing, filing, and bathing in acidic solutions.
• Join metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting, and riveting.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in stainless steel welding and fabrication.
• Trade qualifications are preferred; however, extensive experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
• Proven experience working with stainless steel, including cutting, welding, polishing, and fabricating components to precise specifications.
• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
• Possession of personal tools.
• Reliable transportation.
• At least two work references.
• Strong commitment to Health & Safety protocols.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
