Programmed Facility Management is looking for a skilled Facilities Caretaker with experience in carpet cleaning and carpentry to join our Christchurch team, based at Rolleston College.
Full-time (40 hours/week), working Monday to Friday in 8-hour shifts, with a potential start time around midday to 8:30 PM.

Reporting to the on-site Facilities Coordinator, you'll play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-kept environment for the school community.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Cleaning & Grounds Maintenance: Ensure the school and its facilities are clean, well-maintained, and in top condition to complete various work requests within given time frames.
- Carpet Cleaning & Carpentry: Use your expertise to keep floors fresh and handle minor repairs.
- Site Care & Development: Follow maintenance schedules, policies, and best practices to enhance the school's facilities.
- Safe & Professional Work: Carry out tasks with minimal disruption to school operations while prioritizing safety.
- Regular Facility Inspections: Conduct routine checks to ensure everything is in good working order.
- Building Strong Relationships: Work closely with contractors, school operators, colleagues, and peers.
- Basic Computer Tasks: Use a computer for logging maintenance work and related tasks.

The Ideal Candidate:
We're looking for someone who is:
- Physically fit, flexible, and adaptable to handle a variety of tasks.
- Experienced in Carpet Cleaning & Carpentry

- Able to pass a full police vetting with a clear criminal conviction history.
- An excellent communicator who can build strong relationships.
- Reliable, honest, and a great team player who enjoys working alongside others.
- Confident in taking ownership and responsibility for their work.
Important Requirements:
Due to the nature of this role, strict background checks will be conducted, including:
- Drug and Alcohol screening
- Ministry of Justice check
- School Police Vetting
All applicants must have verifiable work rights in New Zealand and hold a full, clean New Zealand driver's license.
