This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the National Criminal Investigations Group, working within the Ten-Prints unit at the National Biometric information Office.
As a Trainee Ten Print Identification Officer, you will be required to successfully complete a 1-year training course to qualify as a Ten Print Identification Officer. You will be supported during this in-house training period.
As both a Trainee and a Ten Print Identification Officer you will support frontline staff, by supplying them with accurate and timely information. You will also support the various National Fingerprint Service Centre’s by ensuring the best possible fingerprint impressions or images are recorded on the Automated Fingerprint Information System.
Key Accountabilities:
- Accurately processing electronic Live Scan transactions and scanned inked fingerprint forms.
- Dealing with all aspects of the National Intelligence Application, within the National Biometric Information Office.
- Managing queries received by the National Biometric Information Office in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with the training of New Zealand Police Recruits and Authorised Officers in the use of Live Scan.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $58,973 and $60,639 (Trainee) or between $69,337 & $72,430 (Qualified)
dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
