About the Role: Our client, a leading financial institution, is looking for an experienced Data Lead to join their team and provide senior-level support, leadership, and guidance in data project implementation. You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining high-quality data products and ensuring trusted data assets are built and delivered for key business needs. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Data Engineers and Analysts, playing a key part in shaping the future of data infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead data engineering expertise for a specific project, driving the development of best practices, standards, and frameworks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure investments in foundational data assets meet business needs.
Ensure all data frameworks, standards, and procedures adhere to organisational requirements, governance, and risk frameworks.
Oversee the development and maintenance of quality data infrastructure, ensuring sustainable datasets and automated pipelines.
Provide technical guidance, support, and mentorship to Data Engineers
What You’ll Bring:
Proven experience leading data engineering teams or projects, with deep expertise in data architecture and engineering practices.
Strong experience in developing and automating data pipelines and infrastructure.
Knowledge of governance, risk frameworks, and best practices in data management.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical insights to non-technical audiences.
Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
Strong problem-solving abilities and an eye for continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Tertiary qualified in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Extensive experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
