What You'll Do:

  • Provide expert advice and comprehensive support to Council, committees, and community boards.
  • Prepare agendas, minutes, and work programmes to facilitate effective meetings.
  • Support elected members in fulfilling their roles, ensuring legislative and procedural compliance.
  • Foster strong relationships with councillors, chairs, and key stakeholders.
  • Assist in improving governance processes to enhance transparency and public engagement.


What We're Looking For:

  • A relevant qualification in governance, political studies, or business administration.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a governance or political advisory role.
  • Strong understanding of local government processes and legislation.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with governance software (e.g., InfoCouncil, Diligent) is desirable.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage complex tasks effectively.
  • A current and valid New Zealand driver's licence.
