About the role

We have a fabulous internal agency-type bureau to utilise our casual/flexible staff across our Villages and Care Homes - MetFlex. Our reliance on great flexible staff to fill planned and unplanned leave is crucial in keeping our sites safely running and with Metlifecare employees having sufficient breaks, taking leave, and working to create extraordinary living experiences for our residents.

Due to relocation, our Metflex team is looking for an organised, fast and efficient Booking Consultant. We are looking for previous experience in managing, scheduling, coordinating and onboarding a pool of casual staff. We pride ourselves on creating great working experiences for our flexible staff as they support our people in filling shifts!

Primarily your key tasks will include:

  • Hiring / Interviewing potential Metflex flexible employees who will be allocated to your portfolio ensuring there is sufficient staff in your pool to support your business. This could be clinical, kitchen, maintenance staff members.
  • Communicating, scheduling, and coordinating Metflex flexible workers on a regular basis- can be fast paced with lots of problem solving and effective communication needed!
  • Liaising with Village and Care Home managers in your assigned portfolio to ensure their short leave requests are filled with flexible employees- this will be automated through a system we are implementing currently.
  • Managing the people aspects of your flexible employee including orientation, payroll, , employment related queries etc. in partnership with the People Team and onsite managers
  • Administrative duties related to managing the flexible employee and/or management of your assigned portfolio.


About you

This role would suit someone with great communication skills who might want to come off the tools, off the floor and work in an office type role but still within the industry. You will know what it takes to liaise with village, aged care staff to schedule in shifts and even manage certain elements of their career (i.e., competencies, orientation requirements etc.). Some things that will support your application include:

  • Experience within a coordinator or other similar type operational role managing a portfolio or case load of clients/customers/workers
  • Highly desirable - relevant experience working within the aged care industry or as a clinical professional
  • Working in the blue collar, high volume, and people-oriented space where you have dealt with multiple competing priorities and personalities
  • Operational and quality management of processes, driving quality improvements, and suggesting solutions to challenges
  • Able to use scheduling tools and systems and able to confidently utilise the Microsoft Office suite of products e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel etc.
