Job Description

You'll lead a cross-functional team, ensuring alignment with the program's objectives, timeline, and budget. Your focus will be on managing all aspects of the aPay implementation, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, deployment, and change management. Key Responsibilities: • Project Leadership: Drive the aPay implementation project, ensuring it aligns with the overall program goals and delivers the expected benefits. • Vendor Management: Establish and maintain a strong relationship with Dayforce, ensuring effective communication, timely delivery of services, and prompt resolution of any issues. • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other Project Managers (HRIS, Integration, Data & Reporting, PMO), Change Managers, Architecture Lead, and relevant SMEs to ensure coordinated efforts and seamless integration of aPay with other systems. • Planning and Execution: Develop and maintain a detailed project plan for the aPay implementation, including milestones, deliverables, resources, and risks. Oversee the execution of the plan, ensuring timely completion of tasks and adherence to quality standards. • Requirements Management: Oversee the analysis and documentation of detailed functional and non-functional requirements for aPay. Ensure that the configuration and customization of the system meet these requirements. • Testing and Validation: Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive test plans, including unit testing, system testing, integration testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and parallel testing (in collaboration with the Test Manager). Ensure that the system functions as expected and meets all acceptance criteria. • Change Management and Training: Work closely with the Change Manager to develop and implement a comprehensive change management and training plan for Workday users. Ensure that users are prepared for the transition and can effectively utilize the new system. • Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to aPay implementation, vendor dependencies, data migration, and change management. Resolve issues promptly and effectively. • Communication and Reporting: Provide regular updates on the progress of the aPay implementation to the Programme Director and other stakeholders. Prepare and present clear and concise reports on project status, risks, and issues.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in payroll implementations, preferably with aPay.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, data management, and system integration.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)) are desirable.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations in New Zealand.
