This newly created Senior Business Analyst position will be responsible for providing business analysis, process, and reporting advice.

You will support the preparation and implementation of new and updated carbon tables into our IT system to better reflect carbon storage in a wider range of forests. Your core role is to clarify and articulate the system and functional requirements (user stories) including supporting models and artefacts where appropriate for the required system development.

Developing a sufficient understanding of the impact of proposed Regulation amendments will be valuable as this environment can be technical and complex.

You will be working in an agile scrum environment, so an appreciation for the Agile methodology is important, we are looking for this role to provide continuity through development to implementation.

Engagement with key stakeholders is required to elicit requirements and pivot as required, this includes key SME's in the ETS operations team and ETS product management team as well as vendors and MPI IT teams. These are mostly internal with some external.

This role contributes to the emission trading scheme and therefore climate improvement.

Your key skills include:

  • Interviewing users and stakeholders
  • Writing requirements
  • Interacting with IT teams and vendors
  • Salesforce, Azure, and ArcGIS systems

Mōu - About You

To be successful in this role, you will have strong Business Analysis experience in a large and complex environment, as well as significant analysis and reporting knowledge.

You are confident dealing with technology people and love to utilise your experience within the agile scrum methodologies.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will also have strong experience gathering requirements from a range of stakeholders, developing detailed functional requirements, and detailing the user experience from their perspective for both internal and external user.

Importantly, you will have excellent communication and relationship management skills with the ability to work on multiple reporting activities and be able to make sense of complex or ambiguous issues and determine the most appropriate response.

You do not need to meet all of the role requirements to apply. We offer a breadth of development and learning opportunities and will welcome an application if you think you could make a great fit.

Mō tō mātou rōpū - About the Team

Based in the office on The Terrace, there are three other business analysts in the team working on different projects. Be part of the climate change solution with ETS as our mechanism for reducing carbon emissions. The better the system works, the more impact we can have on climate change in New Zealand.
