He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Lead Lifeguard | Manurewa Pool and Leisure Centre
Our pool and leisure facilities are more popular than ever, and as Lead Lifeguard, for the Manurewa Pool and Leisure Centre you will play a key part in ensuring that all customers not only have a fantastic experience but a safe one.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Providing guidance on and supporting the delivery of aquatics-based programmes;
• General lifeguarding duties to ensure customers are safe and looked after; and
• Supporting the Team Leader with day-to-day operations at the Centre.

We currently have a permanent full-time 40-hour position working Tuesday - Saturday.
Flexibility will be critical in this role:

• on a rotating roster over 7 days (Saturday - Friday)
• the candidate will need to be able to work alternate weekends as a minimum
• earliest start is 5am with the latest finish being 9:30pm

NOTE: The roster is rotating so the candidate will not get the same shifts every day of the week

It goes without saying that you’ll have a passion for aquatics, and you’ll enjoy sharing your knowledge and experience with customers and colleagues to improve water safety. You will be an excellent communicator and committed to delivering exceptional aquatic programmes and providing a high level of customer satisfaction.

Joining an energetic and passionate team, you’ll be a keen team player with a flexible approach and be able to take initiative to help drive a positive safety culture.

You’ll need to hold a current First Aid Certificate as well as a Pool Lifeguard Practising Certificate. As the centre operates 7 days a week, reliability and commitment to working early, late and weekend shifts are crucial.
