Our Customer, Products & Services unit is seeking a Product Manager. You will be responsible for overall product lifecycle management, ensuring product portfolios are managed strategically, and tactically where needed, to optimise financial performance and ensure that products are compliant, remain fit for purpose and meet our customer's current and future needs.

This is a full time, 12 month fixed term position.
We sat down with our Senior Product Manager, and they let us know the following about the role;
What are 5 day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
- Responsible for the delivery of a value streams business requirements.
- Ensure that work planned/delivered meets our compliance obligations.
- Supports the successful delivery of associated business activities/dependencies.
- Supports business readiness activities.
- Works closely with value streams business analysts to ensure business requirements are in-line with business outcomes.
What is the team culture and environment like?

What projects / work will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?
They will be working in the Home Lending Product team with a focus on home loan product compliance.
What is your management style?
I like to set a clear purpose and direction however team members will usually get to work on their terms if they are productive and meeting the agreed outcomes. I am always available for support and to provide clarity on the tasks at hand.
What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?
The ability to think critically. We are not looking for just a doer. We are looking for someone who can analyse, interpret, evaluate, and come to decisions based on an approved framework where applicable. The following experience is also beneficial;
- 2+ years experience in the Banking, Finance or related industries
- Involved in product and process improvement
- Analysis of data and providing recommendations / insights
- Experience with Lending
- Knowledge of New Zealand banking regulations
