Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role

Massey is looking for an experienced Data and Integration Architect. This is a new and exciting role – are you up for it? This role requires an expert in the foundational aspects of Master Data Management, applying best practice patterns and designs for how data is captured, stored, managed, and integrated between systems. You will be able to apply your data management experience and integrate data between systems. This will highlight your experience in designing and implementing integration platforms, including APIs, message-oriented, and event-driven architectures. This role involves guiding and championing operations and monitoring in this domain.

You will be joining Massey at just the right time, as we expand our architecture practice. You will be instrumental as we reinvigorate our purpose, our value proposition and the services we bring to the University.

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

In this role, you will advocate for data and integration capabilities, and collaborate closely with peers in the architecture practice, promoting the value of data and integration capabilities, while contributing to the development of principles, standards, and guidelines for IT teams and the broader architecture service offering across the University. You will design and lead policies, standards and data models, providing advice and guidance to others using the data structures and associated components, ensuring the data models are used effectively and consistently across the organization. Your practical expertise, design & documentation skills, and thought leadership will contribute to our data management and integration business goals.

Ko koe tēnei | Who You Are

We are looking for someone who can, as part of a team, champion architecture, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

You will have a tertiary qualification in IT, or equivalent extensive industry experience.
Minimum 7 years of experience in an architecture role, with deep background and success in master data management and large-scale integration frameworks and methodologies.
Familiarity with current strategic issues facing IT departments (preferably in a university or NZ government context).
Have experience in establishing and managing integration governance practices in large, complex environments.
Have proven experience in designing and implementing large scale enterprise middleware platforms & solutions
Build strong and enduring working relationships within ITS and with university business stakeholders.

This is a full-time position. Many of the IT Services teams and business stakeholders are based on our Palmerston North campus, which is the preferred location for this role. Consideration may be given for the right candidate to be based at our Wellington Campus, however regular travel to Palmerston North will be required.

We envision interviews to be conducted for shortlisted candidates the week commencing 17 March. This position will be commensurate of skills and experience within the $130 - $170K range.
