Investigations is situated in New Zealand Police’s Frontline Operations Group which plays a pivotal role in operationalising and delivering ‘Our Business’.
The Senior Advisor - Operational Policy & Practice is responsible for helping to develop best practice guidance, police instructions, and processes to support an effective operational model for policing gangs, including operationalising new gang legislation.
Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver standard operating procedures, policies, guidance to support our frontline to enforce gang legislation.
- Introduce mechanisms that can readily identify actual and potential policy and practice problems.
- Analyse policy and practice issues to develop and deliver effective policy advice.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of solutions to introduce gang legislation and to oversee the application thereof.
- Support and maintain an effective working relationship across key work groups.
- Work collaboratively and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team within a dynamic environment.

To be eligible for this role, you may be asked to obtain and maintain a SECRET national security clearance.
The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is:
NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or:
- A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or
- A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $102,808 and $108,894 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
