Are you a visionary leader with a passion for research commercialisation, intellectual property, and turning innovative ideas into real-world impact? Massey University is looking for a dynamic Director, Commercialisation and IP to champion research commercialisation and foster innovation as these activities are high priorities for our institution.
This pivotal leadership role offers the opportunity to:
- Develop and oversee robust processes that nurture a pipeline of commercially promising ideas, intellectual property, and technologies born from our world-class research.
- Advocate for research commercialisation as a strategic priority across the University.
- Build and sustain meaningful relationships with academic staff, industry leaders, and commercial organisations.
Your Role in Shaping Massey’s Future
As a trusted advisor and collaborator, you’ll empower academic staff, departments, and research centres to see commercialisation as a key research outcome. Reporting directly to the Provost and working closely with the CEO and team at Massey Ventures Ltd, you will play a vital role in translating our teaching and research into innovative solutions that benefit both the University and society.
What You’ll Bring
- We’re seeking a passionate leader with:
- A postgraduate degree in science, technology, engineering, or technology transfer, or equivalent relevant qualifications and experience.
- Extensive expertise in business brokering, research commercialisation, and intellectual property management, ideally within CRI or tertiary education sectors.
- Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset to build strong partnerships within and beyond the University.
