Job Description

Humes is a leading pipeline systems supplier to New Zealand's infrastructure and rural market.

Our Christchurch production facility is looking for an experience maintenance fitter/welder to join the team!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely undertake quality, cost effective & efficient mechanical maintenance services to minimise unplanned downtime and improve the performance of our concrete product moulds.
  • Undertake scheduled maintenance tasks in a timely and professional manner.
  • Carry out fitting, machining & general maintenance work as required.
  • Use the plant spare parts & workshop resources appropriately & safely.
  • Work within the requirements of Humes Life Saving Rules, procedures, work permits, JSAs and any other related safety documentation.
  • Ensure the safe mechanical operation of plant and equipment after all maintenance tasks.


About you:

  • Trade certificate in Fitting and Turning or Level 4 Maintenance and Diagnostics or other relevant trade qualification / Experience.
  • A working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems with an ability to read schematic drawings.
  • Experience in heavy industrial maintenance environments.
  • Excellent time management, capable of multi-tasking & prioritising.
  • Values upholding Health & Safety standards
