Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity

Spotless/Downer holds three (3) Facilities Maintenance and Management Services with the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF). This newly created role will report to the Grounds and Cleaning Supervisor and provide “on ground” support and direction to Grounds team members.

This is a practical, hands-on role and work will include, but not be limited to:

  • Delivery of the Grounds Scheduled Maintenance plan.
  • Delivery of Grounds Unscheduled Maintenance works.
  • Supporting/directing team members to complete works as required.
  • Providing feedback to the Grounds on resource levels, equipment issues/supply and jobs delivery and performance.
  • Stepping up in the absence of the Grounds and providing leadership as required.
  • Supporting/directing subcontractors who are sent to site to complete works as required.


Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills

  • Minimum 3 -5 years’ experience within the Grounds industry.
  • Any formal Grounds, Turf or Horticulture qualifications highly regarded.
  • Authentic and visible leader.
  • Strong customer centric approach.
  • Good time management and organisation skills.
  • Ownership, commitment and an ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple demands.
  • Ability to identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Must hold a current full driver’s licence.
