Job Description

THE OPPORTUNITY:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Account Manager to join our team, focused on Independent Agencies. In this newly formed role, you’ll have the chance to manage and execute campaigns from start to finish, ensuring clients receive optimal media solutions across NZME's diverse product portfolio. You'll be at the heart of helping grow independent agency sales revenue whilst building lasting relationships and delivering outstanding results.

You’ll also work closely with our team of experts to drive successful, high-impact campaigns, all while ensuring client satisfaction and campaign profitability. With a strong focus on growth, you’ll play a key role in expanding business opportunities and enhancing NZME’s market presence.

HOW YOU’LL DO IT:

  • Build Lasting Relationships: Engage with agency planners and buyers to understand their business needs, ensuring you develop tailored strategies that deliver real results.
  • Deliver Results-Driven Campaigns: Take full ownership of each campaign, from initial booking to completion, ensuring everything is executed flawlessly and in line with client expectations.
  • Strategic Sales Growth: Actively drive sales revenue by identifying new opportunities, developing innovative media solutions (print, digital, radio), and ensuring the cost of sales aligns with revenue goals.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with internal teams and departments to streamline processes, increase efficiency, and optimise the client experience.
  • Proactive Reporting & Forecasting: Provide timely and accurate reports for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that sales targets, forecasts, and client needs are met at every stage.
  • Maximise Client Advocacy: Foster strong relationships with clients, driving satisfaction and promoting NZME’s services as a solution that supports their ongoing growth and success.


ABOUT YOU:

  • You have a tertiary qualification in commerce, media studies, or have a strong understanding of the NZ media market, with the ability to deliver tailored media solutions across different platforms.
  • You’ll have 2+ years of experience in account management or a similar sales-focused role, (bonus points if it has been within the fast-paced media industry!).
  • You thrive on building relationships and offering creative solutions that make a real impact. You’re equipped you with the skills to manage complex campaigns, while keeping clients happy.
  • You are highly motivated by targets, with a track record of successfully driving sales and revenue growth.
  • You’re a team player! You love collaborating with others, driving internal efficiency, and actively contributing to team success.
