Position Overview
This role requires a passionate, results-oriented individual who can build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, to enhance the university’s profile and reputation among ākonga Māori and their influencers, ultimately fostering quality student enrolments.
Ideally based in Palmerston North (may consider candidates from Wellington) to support wider recruitment events, the successful candidate will work across the motu, developing relationships with Kura Kaupapa Māori, Kura -ā -Iwi and key English medium Secondary Schools, along with influencer whānau and broader communities and prospective mature ākonga cohorts.
The salary range for this position is $67,184 to $95,514 based on skills and experience.

What it involves:
Working closely with the wider Future Students team, Deputy Vice Chancellor Māori Office, Te Pūtahi-a-Toi, School of Māori Knowledge, Colleges, Marketing, Web, Communications Academic Advisers, Māori staff across the university and other service partners.
Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies and plans aimed at identifying, engaging, and supporting prospective ākonga Māori across Aotearoa from Kura Kaupapa Māori, English medium Secondary Schools, Kura-ā-Iwi students, whānau and broader communities for Massey University
Through relationships with University staff, in particular kaimahi Māori, develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Massey University’s range of support for ākonga Māori including learning pathways, scholarships, learning support, pastoral care and advice
Impart specialist expertise across a number of channels and platforms including presentations, Expos, webinars and mid to large scale events on and off campus.
What you need to be successful in the appointment:
Demonstrated capacity for providing advice, and a proven record of accomplishment of developing strong and effective relationships in the achievement of strategic outcomes.
Proficiency and the ability to uphold te mana o Te Reo Māori me ōnā Tikanga across a range of situations and settings.
Proven ability to establish and develop authentic relationships within a variety of Māori environments - Kura Kaupapa Māori communities, Secondary Schools, iwi and hapū, industry, community groups and internal stakeholders.
Experience of working in a customer-focussed role, often working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Experience in presenting to and engaging a range of audiences in person and using online platforms.
Secondary school or tertiary education sector knowledge and experience.
Proven experience working as part of a highly motivated team and gaining the respect of peers and stakeholders.
Experience in strategic planning and implementation, operational execution and reporting.
Experience of leading Secondary School and/or Community events.
