The role and you
Sitting within Our Data and Insight team is The Land Customer & Property Information team who are responsible for the development, operation and governance of the Council's Core Property System and all associated activities to enable and support Council's rates income. We are now looking to add a Senior Advisor to the team on a permanent basis to continue this important mahi providing analysis and advice to internal and external stakeholders on complex land property information issues and queries
This role ensures that Wellington City land and property data is correctly maintained, assign's addresses for new subdivisions, researching resource consents and maintains information on new survey subdivisions.
A big part of this role is to research and negotiate with stakeholders to ensure street naming and addressing complies with relevant standards and policies, therefore you will be a natural relationship builder and enjoy get out and about from time to time on site visits in addition to,
- Making recommendations to Council on naming of new streets.
- Approve, monitor, and maintain changes to valuations arising from the objection and maintenance valuation processes.
- Analyse land property data and provide information to key stakeholders.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment

To support the Council to achieve its vision and priorities, you will need to draw on your technical expertise along with your confidence to analyse information to solve problems and make sound decisions. Engaging effectively with external and internal stakeholders to understand and respond to their perspectives and needs is an important aspect to this role as is your ability to work inclusively with people from different backgrounds and with different abilities.
A bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Property Valuation, Land Law or Geography and 5 years relevant experience, or 10 years equivalent experience is desirable.
