Ko tō tūranga – your role
The Cyber Security Domain lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the Team’s daily operations. As the domain SME for Cyber Operations, this role is also responsible for managing the product lifecycle of cyber security services maintained by the team, working with Security Architecture Team to manage capability uplifts and requirements. As team leader, the role also includes people management and prioritisation of the Cyber Ops engineer’s workload.

Ko tō mahi – what you’ll do

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the cyber ops engineers.
  • Monitor and analyse security systems, including vulnerability management tooling, email security gateways and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
  • Manage regular security scans and reports to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare and present reports on security status and incidents of cyber security services to senior management.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cyber security trends and technologies.
  • Development and implementation of the strategic vision for cybersecurity operations.
  • Align cybersecurity engineering goals with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage vendor relationships within the Cyber Operations functions, ensuring regular monitoring of any 3rd party provided services, and regularly review product roadmaps.


Na tōu rourou - what you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cyber security operations or a related role.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP or CISM are preferred.
  • Experience /Vendor certifications with Proofpoint email security, Palo Prisma Cloud, Google SecOps SIEM, Cloud DDOS and WAF services, and vulnerability management tooling such as Qualys, UpGuard, and Mandiant ASM.
  • Experience in supporting cyber security operations in a large organization.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to cyber security.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
