Job Description

We are seeking three enthusiastic and resourceful Engagement Assistants to support our Engagement team. If you excel in fast-paced environments and have the initiative to take on new challenges, we want to hear from you.

We have three available positions, each with a slightly different focus.
City Revitalisation Engagement Assistant- This is fixed-term role for 12 months supporting the new City Revitalisation Engagement Team. This team works on the most exciting and complex projects in Wellington City. As an Engagement Assistant, you will support the team to connect with the community through a range of coordination and administrative tasks. This can include coordinating responses to community enquiries, meeting support, engagement reporting, updating engagement records and coordinating distribution lists. In this dynamic team, you'll need an eye for detail and keenness to jump in and help with whatever comes the team's way.
Diversity and Engagement Assistant- This permanent position will sit within our new Community Engagement team. The Community Engagement team promotes best engagement practices, ensuring that residents' views are considered in Council decision-making processes. To be successful in this role, you'll have a genuine passion for relationship building, creating safe spaces for meaningful dialogue, and making Council processes easier for diverse communities to engage with. This role will be responsible for supporting the administration of Council's Advisory groups Advisory Groups - Meetings - Wellington City Council.
Engagement Assistant- This permanent position provides support to the Engagement Business Unit. You'll provide high quality administration support to the Engagement leadership team, as well as working collaboratively on a range of Engagement activities. Key tasks include calendar management, financial administration, organising meetings, developing agendas, maintaining distribution lists, onboarding staff, and being the team's process and reporting guru.
If you're experienced in and enjoy supporting a busy team of leaders working across a diverse range of engagement projects we'd love to hear from you. You'll be a highly organised, proactive, and adaptable team player who can use your initiative to anticipate the needs of the team to stay ahead of the evolving workload. We are looking for people confident in handling a range of administrative tasks, particularly delivering timely financial reporting. A keen eye for detail and accuracy is important.
