The Opportunity | Te kōwhiringa
Our Penrose team are seeking concrete workers to help Downer deliver on existing and upcoming contracts.
You will be a person who is able to carry out concrete footpath construction and repairs within the Self Delivery team on a day-to-day basis. You will also be responsible for:
- Helping with safe site setup for your crew and the general public
- Assisting with installation of framework and prep work for concrete pour
- Pouring and finishing concrete placement including exposed Concrete finish
- Working as part of a cohesive team to deliver to projects
- Ensuring efficient use of materials, supplies and equipment
- Pours, spreads, smoothes and finishes concrete for structures such as ramps, footpaths and Roads.
Important Skills | Nga pūkenga matua
You will be a team player with an organised and systematic approach to the working environment.
You will need:
- At least a Full Class 1 License
- The ability to work hands-on as a team player
- Good timekeeping skills – punctuality and reliability are key!
Work experience and Qualifications:
We are working on large Government projects for concreting, constructing and repairing footpaths, for this reason we do need candidates to have at least the following proven work experience to bring to the role:
- 2 years of work experience with proven ability to finish concrete work to high standard Including exposed concrete and pebble finish
- 2 years of proven experience to carry out concrete footpath construction and repairs.
- A qualification at level 4 or higher on the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF) will be beneficial but can be replaced by suitable work experience.
