Job Description

CNC Machine Operators required throughout the Gisborne region!

OneStaff is looking for an experienced CNC machine operators for multiple roles! You will need to be reliable and motivated. You might be asked to work across the country to assist with our projects, so flexibility on work locations is preferred. The normal duties to be performed comprise all activities related to preparation, setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to perform variety of functions for production including but not limited to:

Duties include:

  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, work orders or mechanical drawings to determine specification and requirement of the task.
  • Setting up the machine by translating instructions into computer commands for the machine to perform the correct function.
  • Setting up and installing tools and attachments.
  • Calculating, measuring, and verifying all dimension and requirements.
  • Preparing and loading raw materials onto the machine.
  • Operating CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, and milling.
  • Doing a run-test to determine if the machine is in the correct specifications.
  • Checking and maintaining machinery regularly to ensure functionality.
  • Monitoring the machines while on operation and make any necessary adjustments to produce the desired results as per plan.
  • Taking inventory by checking stocks and materials to determine what needs ordering.
  • Documenting machine actions by completing machine logs and productions
  • Keep the workspace, equipment & tools clean.
  • Maintain health and safety requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Skills and experience required:
* 3 years of relevant experience OR relevant qualification
* Reliable and hardworking
* Be physically fit
* Good understanding of Health and Safety best practice

Pay conditions: Minimum of $29.66 to $32.00 per hour
Hours of work: Minimum of 30 hours of work is guaranteed

You may be required to work in multiple locations throughout New Zealand, including Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, Southland, Otago & Westcoast region.

This is a full-time role. Applicants must be a NZ Citizen/Resident or should have a valid NZ work visa.
