Job Description

Utilising your Supervisor position experience, your day-to-day responsibilities will require you to lead and motivate your team to deliver a top-quality product.

You're a 'hands-on' person who understands the importance of compliance, Health & Safety and regulatory requirements and can balance profit maximisation and morale in your team. Reporting to the Production Manager, the primary objective of the role is to manage your team and the department to meet company, customer and regulatory standards whilst maximising profitability and efficiency. Ensuring that procedures and regulations within the associated production areas are followed is a must.

Inspiring your team will lead to additional growth opportunities throughout the Horotiu site and the company.

You will be proactive and organised with a "hands on" approach to inspire your team. Previous experience in a meat processing environment is an advantage but not essential. Team or departmental supervision experience is preferred; however full training is available to those who can demonstrate they have the right attributes to be successful in this role.

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Consistent monitoring of processing quality in the room to ensure high standards at all times.
  • Big focus on Health and Safety.
  • Solid knowledge of meat processing techniques to assist other staff and help set benchmarks.
  • Making sure that all compliance and regulatory requirements are strictly adhered to and that the process is in control under HACCP.
  • Training, developing and mentoring staff.
  • Continuously improving standards and profitability.
  • Recording and processing documentation/departmental administration in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Management/supervision of all staff within the department.
  • This position is primarily a Night Shift role; however, flexibility is required to work Day Shifts when stock capacity or operational needs are reduced.
