We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Freight Sorter to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for organizing and distributing freight within our facility, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the handling of goods. Role Title: Freight Sorter
Location: Airport, Manukau

We are looking for individuals for the following shift:

2:00 am - 7:00 am - Subject to roster

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sort Freight: Organize and route freight based on destination, size, and type using various equipment, including forklifts and conveyors.
  • Load and Unload: Handle the physical movement of goods, including loading items onto trucks and unloading them from incoming shipments.
  • Inspect Shipments: Examine freight for damage and verify that it matches shipping documents to ensure accuracy before dispatch.
  • Document Handling: Maintain accurate records of freight movements, including tracking numbers and shipment details.
  • Ensure Safety: Follow safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure safe handling of goods.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with other warehouse staff and drivers to facilitate smooth and timely operations.


Key Attributes:

  • Pre-Employment Screening: Must be able to undergo a drug screening and a criminal background history check.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately sort and track freight, ensuring that each item is correctly routed and accounted for. This includes spotting discrepancies or damage and verifying that shipments match documentation.
  • Physical Stamina: Capability to handle and move heavy items, perform repetitive tasks, and work on your feet for extended periods. Physical fitness and strength are essential for efficiently managing freight.
  • Safety Awareness: Commitment to following safety protocols and best practices to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. This includes proper handling of equipment and adherence to warehouse safety guidelines.
