He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

As a Chef at Kristin School, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality food in line with the contractual requirements of the unit. You will ensure all tasks are performed with due regard for Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations. This is a Permanent Full-Time role (30 hours+ per week) at Kristin School in Albany, on Auckland's North Shore.

As you will be working within a school or educational institution, you will have normal working hours in accordance with the roster during school terms only. You may be offered additional hours of work during term breaks.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

Reporting to the Unit Operations Manager you will:

  • Prepare, cook, and present food, ensuring quality control and consumer satisfaction.
  • Order, receive, and store kitchen supplies, maintaining proper inventory levels.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces.
  • Develop menus to meet special dietary and cultural needs of customers.
  • Coach and support colleagues, fostering a collaborative team environment.


He kōrero mōu / About you:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • an NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery or equivalent.
  • previous experience cooking in a similar environment.
  • the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook and professional manner.
  • a strong communication skills and a team player attitude.
  • to be physically fit, reliable, and able to pass a police clearance.
