Job Description

Why, hello there!

I’m Andrew, the CEO of Heard, and I need your help! I’m a new dad juggling diapers, startups, and the occasional existential crisis about whether I ordered the wrong size coffee at my local coffee shop. Our company, Heard, is on a mission to make the lives of therapists easier by handling their finances so they can focus on what really matters—helping people. We’re growing fast, like my to-do list, and I need someone who can keep up with both.

Who are we looking for?
Someone who thrives in organized chaos, who finds joy in untangling my never-ending calendar knots, and who understands that “slightly chaotic” is just a term of endearment around here. You’ll be the oil that keeps this CEO machine running smoothly—and by machine, I mean me—your friendly, high-energy, slightly-type-A-hectic-but-generally-fun CEO.

What does the role look like?

Calendar whisperer: You’re going to be the master of the most sacred thing in the universe: my schedule. Meetings need coordination, and I’ll need you to make sure I show up on time, knowing who I’m meeting, and with a clear mission—whether we’re debating, deciding, or just getting to know someone cool.

Travel guru: I travel, though thankfully less than I used to (praise be!). But whether it’s across the country or just across town, you’ll make sure it’s seamless. Find the gyms, the good food spots, and ensure I don’t forget to actually be healthy along the way.

Event ninja: Offsites, team hangouts, and therapist events? You’re in. You’ll work alongside some amazing people—Kristin, Brooke, Alex—to pull off some seriously fun and impactful gatherings.

Special projects & research: Whether it’s building investor target lists or finding new PR opportunities, you’ll always have something fun and meaningful to dive into.

Content & document wrangling: Decks, spreadsheets, resumes, oh my! Keeping all my materials organized, presentable, and ready for prime time.If you’re ready to step into the world of startup chaos, new dad humor, and making a real impact, then I can’t wait to meet you. Apply, and let’s do something amazing together!

Who you are

  • 4-5+ years of experience as an EA or in a similarly demanding role, ideally in the fast-paced chaos of an early-stage startup.
  • A master communicator (written and verbal)—you keep things clear, concise, and on point.
  • A natural organizer with the time management skills to match. You’re basically the Marie Kondo of tasks.
  • A tech enthusiast who loves new tools and isn’t afraid to suggest them.
  • Calm under pressure—because sometimes startups are a rollercoaster, and you’re here for the ride.
  • Discretion? Confidentiality? You’ve got that in the bag.
