We are working alongside a public sector client looking for a Legal Advisor to join their team on a fixed term basis. This is a great chance to work in a team and develop your legislative and advisory skills to prepare you for the next step in your career. This role offers the chance to handle complex cases, undertake a wide variety of legal and policy work, and facilitate the fair and efficient resolution of complaints.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role

As a Legal Advisor, you will play a crucial role in promoting and protecting the rights of consumers. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve providing expert legal advice, handling complex cases, and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. You will also be involved in undertaking a wide variety of legal and policy work related to our client's complaints resolution jurisdiction. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgement, analytical ability, and the capacity to work with minimal supervision.

Mōhou ake | About you

  • At least 3 years post-admission experience as a barrister and solicitor
  • A sound knowledge of health care law, public law generally and administrative law in particular
  • A well-developed understanding of policy issues affecting the interests of consumers
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A demonstrated ability to handle complex cases and meet deadlines
  • Excellent research and writing skills
