  • We're offering a competitive salary starting from $106,416 to $117,782, depending on experience


Mō te tūnga | About the role

The Senior Analyst (Data & Insights) works to provide the organisation with high quality data analysis, insight and advice that improves Oranga Tamariki performance and to support activities that are strategically aligned and impactful.

This role is responsible for prioritising information requests, identifying relevant data, synthesising insights and providing analysis to inform organisational planning and prioritisation of projects and programmes to ensure better wellbeing of children and young people. You'll develop strong relationships across the Ministry and with external partners, driving positive change and improving outcomes for tamariki and whānau nationwide.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

Key requirements of the role include:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
  • We're looking for someone experienced in using statistical analysis software and associated programming languages to manipulate and analyse data (eg, Python, SAS, SPSS, R, Python)
  • Ability to present information using dynamic data visualisation tools (eg, SAS VA, Power BI)
  • You thrive on digging into data to uncover insights that can improve decision-making and drive business success
  • Familiar with government data, data practices, and data governance
  • Experience in business information and reporting in a large complex organisation
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' culture
